Plankton Net acc. to Apstein, 50 cm (100 cm)

Standardised, vertically operated limnological plankton net

This basic version of the Plankton Net acc. to Apstein was initially designed for qualitative limnological investigations. It consists of a conical net bag of 50 cm (100 cm) length attached to a stainless steel ring of 25 cm (40 cm) in diameter and includes a bridle.

For easy retrieval the sample is concentrated in a detachable bucket featuring a weighted stainless steel ring, a metal drain cock and an integrated window covered with corresponding mesh fabric.

The standard mesh size for phytoplankton applications is 55 µm, available mesh sizes range from 5 µm to 780 µm.
