ARC EXPLORER MK II

The ARC Explorer Mk II is the latest generation of Marine Sonic, dual frequency towed side scan sonar designed for search, reconnaissance and recovery applications.

Adaptive CHIRP technology delivers the best possible image quality from side-scan sonar and supports ranges up to 60% greater than non-adaptive CHIRP systems.

High resolution images and simultaneous dual frequency operation with an adjustable tow point and adjustable transducer angle make this an ideal tool for inspection and infrastructure inspection applications that require a high level of flexibility. Rugged construction and a 300m depth rating in a portable, one-person system also make it ideal for search and recovery and security communities.

Maintaining all of the advanced features of its predecessor, including CHIRP technology for extended range, dual frequency options from 300 kHz to 1800 kHz, a fully adjustable tow point and a full 3 year warranty.

The ARC Explorer MK II also offers, for the first time ever, simultaneous dual frequency operation, adjustable angle transducers, a polymer and stainless steel drag body and an additional auxiliary interface which together with the tow rope renewed, provides a virtual connector

Possibility of installing additional sensors requested by the user, including magnetometers and sonars.

The new, extremely robust MK II stainless steel drag device, combined with the renewed drag cable, allows the system to operate up to more than 200 meters deep.

The variable angle tow point and new adjustable angle transducers will provide maximum image flexibility when inspecting decks, piers, port walls, marine platforms and boat hulls.

Small changes in the ARC Explorer Sea Scan Survey ™ software will provide an additional scope tool, as well as a new display screen that will simplify navigation and improve situational awareness.
